Stone Fireplace

A fireplace is a great element into a house. Today we show up how we scult a hearth for our Mordheim ruined houses.

One of the best things to do houses big enough to can play inside is that you can sculpt a lots of inner details. Our stone stairs and our shutters are two of these details that we love. Now we goind to do a new one to add to our elements collection.

We wanted a plain fireplace next to a wall. We will be able to add details after we place into a reuined house.

A new element for our Mordheim ruined scenery, a fireplace.

Sometimes Super Sculpey clay looks dry, and it is not possible work with it. To fit it I mix oild and clay before to use. you need to baked the clay so doesn’t matter if you mix too much.

We we pretty sure about how we want the fireplace. Anyway we chack some references on the web and then we drawn over the clay all the parts.

We have showed before how we sculpt our stone walls. We will need one to check how our fireplace fit with a wall. So, we just do a simple one to check stone lines.

Big tiles in the base, big enought to protect the floor in case that a flamed wood piece falls.

Wide stone jambs in the sides. A simple surface where we will be able to scultp later. Finally we added a mantel shelf.

Now we only need a fireplace hood. Stone again, and plain to add different details after.

This is our fireplace mounted in a wall. We have to do a silicon mold and craft resin pieces to glue them in our sceneries!

We are ready to place our hearth somewhere, just we need to find where. Anyway we hope can do a new ruined house soon with the stone stairs and the fireplace.

We know it looks plain but, what do you think about out fireplace?
