Thyroscutus

Today we bring maybe the famoust miniature of our Lizarmen campaign, the Thyroscutus. A great model to play 9th Age with Saurian Ancients army, now avariable now on Kickstarter.

That colossal beast is for sure the toughest creature you will find. It’s almost like a living fortress, his scales are so thick that even the bite of a dragon could not make him a deadly wound.

A Thyroscutus, two skink crews and one Skink Priest, the biggest model that we neve have done!

To achieve the magnificence of the creature I worked a lot on his scales and details of the skin. To show the importance of this sacred beast I designed plenty of artefacts around his body: from the collar to the attaching device of the sun engine, everything was meticulously studied.

Closely watched by it’s crew, this is our bigger model until today. This miniature can be glue with square or oval base, and skinks can be attached to their sides.

The most impressive of them is the sular engine, made of a sacred talisman found by the ancients is has the capability to project a powerful cosmic ray that can reduce any enemy into ashes… To build that artefact I searched different kinds of astronomic devices and aztec calendars in order to achieve a perfect mix between them.

Furthermore, this miniature has a lot of details as ropes, and other ancient artefacts.

But to handle that kind of powerful magic the presence of a great chaman was mandatory.

I worked o lots designing and posing to make it fit perfectly into that model. To achieve the symbiosis between the chaman and the machine I made a scepter that would align perfectly with the talisman so we can understand that the magic beam was triggered by by the priest.

Just the Ancient Gods knows who will die now…

Does that guy looks strong enough to you??
