Wooden tower

This week I started a new scenery element. I am doing a wooden tower, that I will use in the future with my fantasy scenery. I hope that you like!

Ok guys,  I spent most of the time with crowfunding campaigns, new miniatures, orders… now is time to enjoy working and back to the workshop!

I planned to build a new ruined element, I would like be able to finish before FreakWars 2018 and show up there!

A new scenery before Freakwars 2018 show!

Until today I have been using stone to build up walls for our ruined houses. Now we would like to change the material. Wood is a really good option to add into our collection. Besides most of Mordheim houses have stone in the ground floor and wood in the first floor.

Use balsa wood, is a great way to add wood. But I would like to complicated my self a little bit. So this time I will use green stuff and cardboard.

With that idea in my mind, I planned a tower with for walls and a roof. After check a lots of pictures on internet I drew a sketch a wooden tower with four walls.

I cut a cardboard shape and drew the wall over ir it.

Then I spreaded green stuff and marked strip lines. Finallaly I got 6mm pieces. To scultp each grain I use a regular sculpting tool. Finally I added some knot and damage on the wood..

I left some extra space between strips too ad bigger beams.

Finally I hace wooden pieces of 9mm, 6mm and 4mm. It is good because wall will not look plain with all this different sizes.

Take a wall does not take too much time, but it is a ruined tower, so I will need at least three or four walls!

I will need extra time to can finish that. Next step, glue the walls and do a foor.

some of you asked me before, to avoid sticky green stuff I use corporal oil for babies. For me is better than watter, and cardboard is not warpet… besides mi fingers are so soft 😛

I hope that you like my work today!

What do you think about use green stuff to sculpt woo?
