Forged in the crucible of coastal raids and border skirmishes, the Fyrdmen were the shield-bearing backbone of Norse and Anglo-Scandinavian armies. Raised from among free landowners and farmers, these levied warriors answered the call of their lords when war loomed on the horizon.

This set embodies the rough and ready nature of early medieval militias during the Viking Age. With round shields, axes, and spears, they form the steadfast infantry that held the line in countless battles across England and beyond — from the fields of Wessex to the Danelaw frontier.
